Seven-year-old Daniel and his sister Alice, four, started three weeks ago with just 20p in their money box and they have come a long way.

They officially launched their business last Thursday (January 28), a Treasure Adventure around Barton-le-Clay.

They came up with their business idea as they wanted to bring joy to children on their daily walks in lockdown, to cheer them up and help them stay active.

Daniel and Alice want to encourage other children to think about starting their own business in lockdown too.

"I thought if I started a treasure hunt business it would be exciting for my friends and I could earn some money to do something special too."

The pair had their business, Treasure Adventures, noticed by Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis on Instagram and a professional branding designer offered to design them a logo for free,

They have been sponsored by local Barton Le Clay café the Shack and have had t-shirts made by Flitwick based Lowe-gos.

Their mum Becca said: "Lockdown has been hard on us all and we have struggled with homeschooling.

"It is hard to bring endless worksheets to life and I am definitely not a natural teacher.

"My business - beccapountney.com - is about supporting people in their businesses – so I took what I knew and was passionate about and started to incorporate it into their learning!

"They have big dreams for their business to sell 1,500 of their treasure maps so that one day they can pay to go on a dream trip to DisneyWorld.

"They are hoping to expand to some other Bedfordshire villages with their hunt too.

"I am so proud of all they have achieved and their young entrepreneurial spirit!"
