Huge summer Olympic event needs firms to Love it!

The Love Luton 2012 Festival will be based around the visit of the Olympic Torch from July 6 to 19.

Luton Borough Council expects huge numbers of people from the town and surrounding area to attend.

The council adds that there are plenty of opportunities for businesses to reach tens of thousands of potential customers by placing their name and logo in highly visible locations throughout the event and publicity.

Councillor Hazel Simmons, the council’s leader, said: “Not only is this going to be one of Luton’s biggest ever events, but with national and international interest in the Olympic Torch Relay, the festival is guaranteed to generate massive media interest which will showcase the very best of Luton’s rich culture and heritage.

“This makes it a perfect marketing opportunity to have your organisation’s name associated with the festival which will be enjoyed by huge numbers.”

The weekend will get under way on Friday, July 6, with school games in venues across Luton followed by fringe events in the evening and a 20,000 capacity music concert. Saturday, July 7 will see more fringe events, along with Mela activities before another 20,000 capacity music concert.

Sunday, July 8, starts off with a carnival parade before the arrival of the Olympic Torch. The festival concludes on July 9 as Luton says farewell to the Olympic Torch.
