Jobs boost as Screwfix opens

Trade retailer Screwfix is to officially open its first store in Dunstable on Thursday February 18 on Portland Close.

The new branch will create an additional 16 jobs and is part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans.

Screwfix’s DunstableHoughton Regis Area Manager, Les Singer said: “We’ve created 16 new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Dunstable area. Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service.

Tradesmen and DIYers are all invited to attend the Dunstable – Houghton Regis Screwfix opening, where they can also demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter screw drilling competition. The fastest time wins a 40in smart TV. Throughout the store’s launch celebration period from Thursday until Sunday, all product ranges will carry a 10% discount among other store specific special offers.

Les believes that the store’s convenient location and the ability to provide a Click and Collect service within just five minutes of ordering will be a real bonus to local tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts.
