The agency’s Stephen Wood said: “The barn-style premises are very well proportioned and clearly the gated courtyard setting in terms of security was one of Banana Moon’s considerations.”

l S R Wood & Son says it is carving out a positive name for itself as agents to conclude lettings within the Marsh Road retail suburb of Luton.

On behalf of a private investor it has completed three recent lettings, one to a dry cleaning company, a second to a material shop and thirdly the offices above to a child educational establishment.

Mr Wood said he has had positive interest in the nearby Shop 4, Nursery Parade, where he hoped a letting would conclude.

He has had three offers to lease Shop 1, Nursery Parade, which he said clearly goes to show that there is strong demand for this location.

l Mr Wood undertook a viewing of part of 5A Arundel Road, Luton, within a handful of hours of it coming on the market. It culminated in a completion of a letting three weeks later to a local company wishing to secure a vehicle storage compound.

Mr Wood said there are still two ground floor refurbished warehouses and first floor offices available to lease on very flexible terms.

l SR Wood has let Coal Merchants House, on the corner of Cheapside and Guildford Street, Luton.

The four-floor office building with parking, formerly known as Riding House, has been let to a training and development company.

Mr Wood said: “On the brass letter box at the premises is engraved ‘Coal Merchants’. I assume perhaps as far back as 100 years ago this building was used for such a purpose, and it seemed quite fitting to incorporate this in the company name. What’s more a client of mine has advised when serving in the Armed Forces off the coast of Japan in World War II that the coal merchants served the boats with coal fuel.”

l S R Wood & Son has let a lock-up shop at 125 High Street South, Dunstable, to a private individual who intends to establish a business as a children’s art centre.
