The service brings together community organisations, partners and support services to provide advice and guidance on issues including energy and water costs, welfare benefits, money management, financial wellbeing and housing.

Rumi Chowdhury, CEO of Luton Rights, said: “The Community Resilience Hub has been created to provide local people with practical support while helping them build confidence and resilience for the future.

“We recognise that many residents face complex challenges that cannot be addressed by one organisation alone.

“This hub is about bringing people and services together, creating strong referral pathways, and building meaningful partnerships that ensure residents receive the right support at the right time.”

The hub will primarily support residents living in the Beech Hill, Biscot, Dallow and Central wards.

The project is funded through Luton Rising’s New Horizons Fund, managed by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF), and is being delivered by Luton Rights in partnership with Luton Borough Council and CYCD.

The service was developed following engagement with residents and local organisations to identify the challenges facing communities.

It aims to improve links between support organisations and create clearer referral pathways so residents can receive help from the appropriate service.

The opening event was attended by community groups, faith leaders, residents, voluntary organisations and representatives from partner agencies.

The mayor of Luton also highlighted the resilience of communities and the importance of organisations working together to address challenges facing residents.

The hub will temporarily operate from CYCD’s premises from September 1 while refurbishment work is carried out at Bury Park Community Centre.
