Apply now for last reception places at The Linden Academy in Luton for 2023
Head of School Michelle Woodhams has just returned to The Linden Academy after becoming a mum herself and is looking forward to the year ahead with lots of exciting new plans for the future.
Mrs Woodhams said: “I have returned to a fantastic new cohort of children in the school and am delighted to be back. We are already working on exciting new plans, ready to welcome new children in reception in 2023.”
The primary school, for four to 11-year-olds, offers a great variety of before and after-school care clubs to give parents flexibility and support. There are also many extracurricular activities available for children, from dance and football clubs to a book club and school choir.
Strive, achieve and believe
The latest Ofsted report noted that ‘Wellbeing is a priority at The Linden Academy’ and ‘pupils feel happy and safe in school’. It also said that ‘Pupils are valued members of a respectful school community where difference and diversity are celebrated’.
Pupils said that their teachers were always happy to help, as well as being friendly and happy at the school.
The motto ‘Strive, achieve, believe’ is embedded throughout the school values, encouraging children to be their best.
Ofsted also noted that staff have high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, ensuring that children follow well-established routines and show respect for each other. As a result, classroom environments are calm and pupils are engaged, with children playing happily together during playtimes.
Reading is a priority and a new programme, which teaches phonics and early reading, is being thoroughly enjoyed by pupils across the school.
Fun community events
Lots of fun events, which take place during the school year, give families the opportunity to get involved in school life.
For example, Linden Family Fun Fest invites the local community to spend time having fun at the academy and supporting the school. Families take part in lots of activities, including petting animals at the mini-farm, taking part in a penalty shoot-out and browsing a range of craft stalls.
Learning is irresistible, especially when there are fun Easter, summer and winter fetes and extravaganzas for pupils and their families to look forward to.
