Today (April 3) at 7.30pm, the group will be launching their free maths lessons live on YouTube, helping students to keep up their GCSE studies.

Group member Jack Millar, 18, said: “We are a group of second year A Level students who go under the name ‘Revise IT’.

“In light of recent events, and the cancellation of our exams, we have decided to use our time to give back to the community and, as such, we will be running free maths booster sessions via Youtube Live for those secondary school students who may otherwise fall behind.”

The dedicated team members of Revise IT are: Uzayr Sheikh, Afjal Hussain, Vernon Kiboro, Emma Kelly, Aatir Saadqain and, of course, Jack Millar.

The group achieved A* and A grades at GCSE level and are now waiting for the results of their A Levels.

Jack said: “We have just done our exams so we know what students would find interesting, what they can take in - or what might be boring.

“I’ll be running it from my home with live streaming software and showing my computer screen while speaking.

“One or two members will be on the call with me and the others will be answering questions in the comments.”

Revise IT will be focussing on algebra this evening and the lesson will last for around 20 to 30 minutes.

The team recommends that it is good to practice each topic regularly by having a go at a question, and then eventually it will stick in your long term memory.

Jack added: “We are going to start with just Maths but if we have a lot of support and interest we have capabilities for other STEM subjects.”

Before sixth form, the students attended Icknield High School, Cardinal Newman Catholic School, and Putteridge High School.
