Young Beds chefs offered chance of their lifetimes

An international appliances manufacturer based in Luton is looking to nurture the next generation of Michelin stars in a nationwide competition that will provide the ultimate work experience.

Electrolux Chef Academy 2013 is inviting nominations from promising third year students for a place on a paid programme in some of the country’s top restaurants.

Working under the watchful eye of renowned maestros Tom Kitchin, Simon Hulstone and Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, the lucky winners will spend four months in each restaurant developing their skills and setting them on their future career paths.

Electrolux spokeswoman Vanessa Holloway said: “More than 50 per cent of Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe use our appliances.

“Through our partnership with incredibly talented chefs, we’re extremely well placed to establish the Chef Academy programme, giving young hopefuls a fantastic insight into this highly competitive yet exhilarating industry.”

The judging panel comprises Michelin chef Nigel Haworth, Electrolux professional development chef Andy Blakemore and Craft Guild of Chefs boss Martin Bates.
