Blackbright News to refocus on mental issues

Founder and managing editor Myrna Loy (pictured right) said: “We want to redress stigma-related situations, particularly those associated with mental illness.

She added: “Although we are a black-led publication, we will cover concerns of anyone who feels stigmatised or stereotyped, regardless of their colour, race, religion or health status.”

The qualified counsellor intends doing this by disclosing personal experiences of both famous and ordinary people willing to share their stories and including information and advice from specialists. She is looking for voluntary submissions as well as financial support through sponsorship and advertising.”
