The number of people in the UK who have died with coronavirus stands at 39,369, with 324 deaths confirmed in the past 24 hours.

A statistical report released today by Public Health England found that people of black and minority ethnicity (BAME) were more likely to die of COVID-19.

At today's daily coronavirus briefing, Health Secretary Matt Hancock addressed concerns that BAME people were at a higher risk.

He said the pandemic exposed "huge disparities" among those of different backgrounds and added that the Equalities Minister would look into the higher death rate affecting ethnic minorities.
