Coronavirus latest: 29 new cases and one death recorded in Luton today
29 new instances of coronavirus and one death have been recorded in Luton today, according Public Health England figures.
The total number of cases in the borough now stands at 20,187 (+29).
Over the past seven days, 183 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in Luton down by 57 (-23.8%) from the previous week.
One new death (within 28 days of a positive test) was reported in Luton today, with 496 in total since the pandemic began
The case rate in Luton is now 97.2 per 100,000.
There have been 4,367,291 lab-confirmed cases across the UK, up by a daily rise of 2,763.
126,927 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, up by 45.
A further easing of coronavirus takes place in England next Monday, April 12, for stage two of the government's roadmap out of lockdown.
On that day, gyms and sports centres can reopen, along with outside table service for pubs if they choose to do so.
The “stay at home” order has also ended, although the government is encouraging people to stay local where possible.
