Coronavirus latest: 532 cases confirmed in Luton over weekend

532 new coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Luton over the weekend, according to figures from Public Health England.

The total number of cases in the borough now stands at 12,808 (+532).

The case rate in Luton is now 905.9 per 100,000.

Yesterday (Saturday) saw 303 new cases in the town, with another 229 added today.

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 10,518 (+471) cases while Bedford's figure is at 8,719 (+525).

There have been 3,072,349 lab-confirmed cases across the UK, up by a daily rise of 54,940.

81,431 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, up by 563 today.
