The total number of cases in the borough now stands at 19,565 (+61).

Over the past seven days, 293 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in Luton, up by 61 (+26.3%) from the previous week.

No new deaths (within 28 days of a positive test) were reported in Luton today, with 490 in total since the pandemic began

The case rate in Luton is now 116.9 per 100,000.

There have been 4,285,684 lab-confirmed cases across the UK, up by a daily rise of 4,802.

126,026 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, up by 101 today.

The government has confirmed that twice-weekly testing using lateral flow tests will be provided for free to all adults in households with primary, secondary and college age children, and young people, including child care and support bubbles.

Twice weekly testing will also be offered to adults working in the wider school community, such as bus drivers and after school club leaders.
