Coronavirus latest: Seven new infections in Luton and four deaths at L&D Hospital

Seven new instances of coronavirus have been confirmed in Luton over the past 24 hours, according to Public Health England.

It brings the total number of cases in the borough to 817.

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 727 (+9) cases while Bedford's figure has risen to 761 (+8).

There have been four further coronavirus-related deaths reported at Luton & Dunstable Hospital yesterday.

NHS England figures show 274 people with the disease have died at the L&D as of 5pm on Wednesday, June 17.

Across the country, there have been 300,469 infections at an increase of 1,218 over the past 24 hours.

A total of 42,288 people have died with coronavirus in the UK, up by 135 since yesterday.
