Coronavirus latest: Spike of 31 new cases in Luton over weekend
There has been a sharp rise of 31 new coronavirus infections in Luton over the weekend, according to the latest data from Public Health England.
The total number of infections in the borough now stands at 1,423.
Previous data shared by Public Health England relied solely on Pillar 1 (testing from Public Health England and NHS Hospital Trusts), but as of Thursday the information includes Pillar 2 (non-clinical and commercial testing).
NHS England figures show 280 people had died at the L&D Hospital over the course of the pandemic.
