Three new instances of coronavirus have been confirmed in Luton in the past 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health England.

The total number of infections in the borough now stands at 1,522 (+3).

13 new cases were added yesterday, with five on Tuesday, two on Monday, and a peak of 34 over the weekend.

Luton's infection rate is 709.5 per 100,000 - the 10th highest in England.

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 1,261 (+7) cases while Bedford's figure stands at 1,305 (+3).

Across the country, there have been 297,146 infections at an increase of 769 over the past 24 hours.

45,554people have died with coronavirus in the UK, up by 53 since yesterday.
