Covid-19 surge in Luton street sees council offer special testing for residents

Residents living in a street in Luton are being offered special testing this week after a spike in coronavirus cases.

Selbourne Road has seen a surge in cases and the council is offering special testing on Thursday and Friday at Downside Primary School.

The testing is being offered to all residents living in:

Luton Borough Council stated: "Due to high Covid-19 infection rates in the area, we are offering special testing this Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24, at Downside Primary School.

"You can walk or drive to the testing station. Please protect yourself and your family by booking a test, even if you don't have symptoms."

Luton currently has 1,506 confirmed coronavirus cases, with five added yesterday (Tuesday), two on Monday, and a peak of 34 over the weekend.
