Luton GP practice closed as 'precautionary measure' after suspected Coronavirus case

A Luton GP practice has closed today after a patient was allegedly diagnosed with Coronavirus.

Several patients have reported to Luton News that their appointments at Blenheim Crescent Medical Centre were cancelled today.

Luton CCG has not denied reports of a suspected Coronavirus diagnosis for a patient at the practice.

In response to our enquiries, a NHS spokesman said: “Blenheim Medical Centre is temporarily closed today to enable a clean of the surgery as a routine precautionary measure.

"The practice will reopen on Monday 17 February 2020 and patients will be advised if their appointment needs to be rearranged.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused. Safety is our priority and we have been working with public health teams to make sure there is no risk to staff and patients.

“Patients can still contact the Blenheim Medical Centre and urgent cases will be seen at the Link Surgery, patients can also contact NHS111 if they require urgent medical help”
