Anton’s uncles up to no good

There were nine characters in Checkhov’s original groundbreaking play, Uncle Vanya, but for this fresh new version entitled Anton’s Uncles, only the male characters remain.

Anton’s Uncles retains some of the themes from Checkhov’s work, of unhappy characters preoccupied with frustrated hopes and ‘wasted life’, but Theatre Movement Bizarre and Greenwich Theatre’s version is funny and exciting.

The company merges the original text with new writing, movement, dancing and singing, and the play comes with a warning of ‘unconventional drinking and dancing’. At the Hat Factory in Luton on October 4, 7.30pm. For tickets call 01582 878100.
