Ballet is a tragic tale of romance

The beautiful ballet Swan Lake is the perfect production to start the winter season; with a magical story, haunting music and stunning choreography.

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will be dancing the classic ballet at The Grove Theatre in Dunstbale on November 27, and Curtain Call has a pair of tickets to the show to give away.

Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet has been enchanting audiences since he composed it in 1875/6, and it remains one of the best-loved ballets of all time.

Originally called The Lake Of Swans, it tells the story of young princess Odette, who is turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer and can only be saved by her prince’s everlasting love and eternal devotion.

Producer Alexej Ignatow said: “We endeavor to use different artists every year. This means that although you may have seen Swan Lake one year, our performance the following year will contain different sets, costumes and choreography. It will feel like a different show altogether.”
