Famous brass band is blowing into Dunstable

RENOWNED national brass band champions Brighouse and Rastrick Band will perform at Dunstable’s Grove Theatre next month.

The concert, which has been organised by Luton North Rotary Club for Saturday, October 1, will be the band’s only performance south of Birmingham during their championship-winning year.

The Luton Youth Jazz Orchestra, who recently received a gold award at the National Youth Concert Band Festival, will be the support act, under musical director Simon Router.

And Pasque Harmony, a ladies choir formed in 2003 to raise funds for Keech Hospice Care, will also take to the stage.

Brighouse and Rastrick Band’s Ian Dust said: “We are really pleased to be helping the Rotary Club of Luton North with their fundraising.

“The band is looking forward to appearing in the Luton and Dunstable area again after several years. Rotary do a great job helping others and some of Brighouse and Rastrick Band’s most satisfying concerts are organised by Rotary Clubs across the UK.”

Proceeds from the evening will go to the Forces Children’s Trust, Keech Hospice Care, and other charities supported by Rotary. Tickets, priced £20, are available from the Grove Theatre box office on 01582 602080 or online at www.grovetheatre.co.uk
