Grove alive with sound of music

The Grove will be alive with the sound of music as DAOS take to the stage with their production of one of the biggest musicals of all time.

Despite being a small amateur dramatics group, DAOS are no strangers to the big name shows, with Jesus Christ Superstar and Beauty And The Beast in their back catalogue.

Most readers will probably remember The Sound Of Music from their childhoods – the romantic story of rebellious nun Maria who is sent to be the governess for seven children of a recently widowed war-hero Navy captain.

Maria falls in love with the captain, but their romance is overshadowed by the threat of the Nazi Anshcluss of Germany with Austria.

Of course the big musical numbers are just as important to the show as the romance and drama, and you’ll struggle to stop yourself singing along as DAOS belt out all the hits from My Favourite Things to Sixteen Going On Seventeen, and of course Do-Re-Mi (fa-so-la-ti-do!).

DAOS have been performing regularly at The Grove since it opened and their shows normally sell out, so if you want tickets to see this family favourite, you need to act fast.

So prepare to climb every mountain, yodel at some goatherds and see just how you solve a problem like Maria.

From October 18-20 at The Grove Theatre in Dunstable. For tickets call the box office on 01582 602080 or visit www.grovetheatre.co.uk.
