Taylor Wimpey has announced that it will bring 500 new homes to Bedfordshire, after receiving reserved matters planning approval for a new development in Barton-le-Clay.

The development will provide a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments, two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes, and a selection of bungalows, with 30% of properties designated to affordable housing.

Taylor Wimpey’s planning application for the new Barton-le-Clay development was approved by Central Bedfordshire Council, with works on site due to commence in March 2026. The first new homes are expected to be on sale in Autumn 2026.

Gemma Davies, Land Manager at Taylor Wimpey, said: “We’re pleased to have received planning approval for a brand new development of 500 homes in Barton-le-Clay. We have a great presence in Bedfordshire, and it’s exciting to be bringing even more much-needed homes to the county, as well as providing open green space, equipped play areas, multi-use games spaces, and large allotments.

“We look forward to work commencing in 2026 and seeing our new community grow in Barton-le-Clay.”
