Llama arrives for fireworks

THE newest arrival at Woodside Animal Farm arrived with a bang on Saturday.

As fireworks went off to mark Bonfire Night, keepers at the leisure park, near Slip End, were celebrating the birth of a baby llama.

The little girl did not initially bond well with her mother though, who was unsettled due to all the unfamiliar noise and lights from nearby firework displays.

But both mother and baby are now doing well together and dad is very protective of the new offspring.

The tiny llama is yet to be named but can already be seen be farm visitors in the paddock.

She will eat hay, goat mix and chaff. She is let out in the morning when all the llamas are fed, and at night the group are put back inside and given hay and water.

Mid-week pricing at Woodside means adults can go for £3 and children for £2 to see the baby from Monday to Friday.

Toddlers under two go free.
