The award-winning TADS Theatre Group in Toddington presents its own production of the Bard’s timeless love story in the intimate environment of the Conger Lane theatre.

It will be directed by Sue Sachon, who gained a PhD in Shakespeare Studies in 2014, and has directed over 40 plays and show.

Group spokesman David Sachon said: “TADS Theatre is a great place to get to know Shakespeare.

“The intimate, in-the-round staging in TADS’ atmospheric little theatre encourages greater audience engagement, and a sense of closeness often not available from a more conventional staging.”

And as Romeo and Juliet is so widely studied in local schools, students attending the show on Thursdays will be able to attend a pre-show talk by the director and her cast, and will be given a copy of the director’s notes on request.

TADS’ previous Shakespeare productions, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2012 and Henry V in 2014, were both exceptionally well received, and won several local awards for excellence from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, including Best Overall Production, Best Director, Best Drama and Best Technical Achievement.
