Make the most of a rare chance to join Stage 1

A RARE opportunity has manifested itself for budding actors and actresses aged eight to 13.

For the first time in many years, the highly-acclaimed Luton youth theatre company has vacancies for the new academic year, starting on September 8.

As you may know, unlike some of the other children’s groups, Stage 1 operates as a theatre club with a membership limited to a maximum of 40 at any one time.

Due to the limited membership, the group has built up a considerable waiting list over the years, but for the first time the list has been exhausted and there is room for new faces.

Formed 25 years ago and run entirely by unpaid volunteers, Stage 1 presents a variety of musical entertainment, concerts, reviews and pantomimes.

Next week the cast will begin work on its 26th annual pantomime, which this year is Aladdin.

Any potential new recruits should be able to perform in the festive show on February 3 and 4, 2012.

Membership costs £17 per term with a £5 joining fee.

Stage 1 meet on Thursday evenings from 6.15pm until 7.30pm during school term time in the hall at St Andrew’s Church, Blenheim Crescent, Luton.

Both boys and girls are welcome to join. This is a huge opportunity for little starlets in the area to have a chance to shine in a very professional production. Don’t miss out if you are eager to gain stage skills.

If you are interested in joining or know any children who might like to get involved, call Terry or Valerie Mills on 01582 507820 or email [email protected]
