Central Beds and Houghton Regis Town councils are to unveil visions of the future for Houghton Hall Park, which is set to undergo extensive works.

Prior to a £2.1m bid for lottery funding for the project both councils will show drawings and proposals to the public, also inviting people to come forward with their memories of the park.

The roadshow will begin at Houghton Regis Leisure Centre on Saturday, it will then visit the library on Monday and Tuesday.

Plans will also be shown at the Pavilion on June 4 and on the following day will be at the Leisure centre, the Tithe Farm Neighbourhood Centre and the library.

The final two days–June 6 and 7– will see the roadshow remain at the library.

Central Beds councillor Ian Dalgarno said: “The Houghton Hall Park project is something we really want people to get behind and share their thoughts on.

“We hope we can win this funding bid so that the local community has a park that they’re proud of and that is designed around their ideas, and this week of events is a huge part of making that happen.

“Not only that, the bird and bat walks and the ‘time-team’ type masterclasses sound absolutely fascinating so it should be a great week!”
