Put your best paw forward for Bark in the Park

DOGS and their owners are invited to Keech Hospice Care’s Bark in the Park to raise money for the charity on Sunday.

The sponsored dog walk will take place at Barton Rovers Football Club, and everyone is welcome to join in the 5km or 10km walks.

Jacqui Shepherd, director of fundraising at Keech Hospice Care, said: “Events like this are not only tonnes of fun for the whole family but will also make a huge difference to the hospice. All of our services are provided free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To keep these services running, we rely on the communities we serve to raise 75 per cent of our funds.

“Dog’s are a man’s best friend and here at the hospice we often use them as therapy. The children love interacting with all the animals as they are great to have around. Our dogs need to be walked everyday so why not join us and make some new friends at the same time while supporting your local hospice. I look forward to seeing as many different people and breads of dogs on the day.”

Meet at 10.30am at the football club to start walking at 11am.

Julia Boness, clinical director from Boness Veterinary Hospital who are sponsoring the event said: “This is a great activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family, including our beloved pets. Man’s best friend can now also help those who really need it in our local communities. We are proud to be sponsoring this event as we have seen the great work that Keech provides.”
