The show must go on for TADS

THERE’S an old saying in theatre: “The show must go on.” And it’s a saying TADS Theatre Group in Toddington are all too familiar with.

They have been going on with their shows for 50 years and have seen their fair share of show-stopping moments, both good and bad.

Their golden anniversary year started with a sell-out production of Fawlty Towers, which saw Basil Fawlty being carted off to hospital with a leg injury at the end of one rehearsal, meaning a replacement actor was swiftly needed.

Sue Sachon from TADS said: “West End professionals have a tough enough job putting on a good show and they don’t normally have full-time jobs to contend with, let alone the cast having to build their own set, hurry around the village delivering posters and leaflets, design and print programmes, make costumes, find props, clean the loos and paint the building. To those am-drams among you, it’s no doubt an all-too-familiar story.”

On With The Show at TADS Theatre in Toddington is a celebration of TADS’ 50 years of successful plays and shows.

Sue said: “On With The Show is an evening of pure enjoyment and it’s our way, too, of saying how fantastic it has been –and still is – keeping live theatre alive locally. We hope you will join us.”
