VIDEO: Mods scoot into Luton

If you went down to St George’s Square on Wednesday you would be forgiven for thinking you had stepped back in time to the 1970s.

To celebrate a special showing of cult film Quadrophenia, the mods and scooterists of Luton and Dunstable brought their scooters to the square to share stories about days gone by.

The film Quadrophenia, which the scooterists watched at the Library Theatre, is based around The Who album of 1973 of the same name.

It tells the story of a young teenage mod in North London in 1964, and reflects the lifestyle, sex, music and drugs of the day.

Members of the Tin Soldiers Scooter Club, Scooterholics, Bedfordshire Pilgrims Scooter Club and Hemel & Watford Scooter Club attended the special event in Luton.
