Luton accountant Ravi Shah, 28, of Bushmead has ditched crisps and chocolate as he prepares to take part in the London Marathon on April 26 in aid of Keech Hospice Care.
He’s already lost two stone in his quest to complete the race and has set himself a fundraising target of £2,500 for the charity that’s so close to his heart.
“They do such a fantastic job providing care to terminally ill children and adults,” he said. “I feel very privileged to have been nominated to run for them.
“I’ve become very disciplined – I run three times a week and my Bollywood music keeps me going.”
Ravi – a partner in family firm Vinod Shah and Company – did the Adidas Silverstone half marathon at the weekend and was very pleased with his time of just over two hours.
He said: “It really whetted my appetite for next month.”
