A virtual reality trip during half term at The Mall in Luton

Luton school children took a virtual reality trip around the world during half term when the Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme visited The Mall.'¨It gave them a chance to explore everywhere from Mars and the Great Barrier Reef to the interior of Buckingham Palace without ever having to leave the town.'¨The revolutionary technology allowed the youngsters to have a truly immersive experience through the use of special headsets. As it was based on the school curriculum, it was educational as well as entertaining.

Marketing manager Lavinia Douglass said: “The Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme was a really interesting event this half term.

“Our young shoppers were able to travel the world right here in The Mall and absolutely loved having the opportunioty to try virtual reality.”
