ABF cyclists bid to help soldiers

The 64-mile cycle route is in aid of soldiers’ charity ABF, and begins at The Five Bells pub in Stanbridge, winding through the beautiful Beds, Bucks and Herts countryside.

After raising more than £5,000 last year, organiser Jacqui Sage-Passant is eagerly looking forward to an even more successful second year.

She said: “We now have more than 50 volunteers out there putting up flyers and over 200 cyclists have registered to take part.

“The public do respect and support our troops, and I think that’s one of the reasons why last year’s event really took off.”

All money raised from the bike ride goes directly to ABF, who provide support and financial assistance to soldiers. Cyclists from across the UK, Holland and Germany have registered to take part.

The charity bike ride takes place on September 7. Participants can register online at www.abfcycleride.co.uk. Sponsors are also invited to make donations.
