The 30-year-old victim was on his way to work when he was attacked from behind on a footpath near Tesco Express in Dunstable Road at about 5.15am.

A mobile phone was taken before the attacker walked back to a silver Vauxhall Signum and drove off down Medina Road.

He was unable to describe the offender but two women who were standing at the bus stop outside Tesco may be able to help.

Call 101 with information.
