Atack the ice, judges tell Luton skating star

Emily needs your votes

She may star in a popular TV comedy series and be a relative of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, but Luton-born Emily Atack needs your help.

For the 20-year-old former Harlington Upper student is the latest celebrity to take to the skates and compete in the ITV1 primetime show Dancing On Ice. And she needs her hometown's support.

Emily, who plays Charlotte in E4 sitcom The Inbetweeners, took to the ice on Sunday night for her first performance with partner Fred Palascak.

She told the Luton News: "It was the biggest night of my life - that's the only way I can describe it. It was terrifying but it was amazing. I can't describe how it feels to be on the show. It is so surreal. I've never been so happy."

But despite her joy, Emily received the lowest score of the night from the judges, who said she needed to give her performance more punch and attack the ice.

Emily - the youngest ever contestant on Dancing On Ice - was the last star to get through to the next round but it was Simon Cowell's former girlfriend singer Sinitta who was booted off.

Emily said: "I was convinced I was going to go because of my score. I must have had loads of votes because my score was low. It is so flattering to know people are supporting me. Having people pick up the phone is amazing.

"I need the Luton votes and I hope everyone in Luton will vote for me."

Dancing On Ice is screened on Sunday at 6.45pm on ITV1.
