Ballot to decide if Police Commissioner will stand for re-election
The future of Bedfordshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner will be decided on Thursday as the Labour party begins its selection of a candidate for next year’s PCC election.
Commissioner Olly Martins will need to receive a majority of nominations from the Bedfordshire constituency Labour Parties and affiliated organisations to stand again in May.
Should the he not receive a majority of nominations cast, then the East of England Labour Party will move towards a full open selection under procedures issued by the National Executive Committee.
To determine the affirmative nomination for Bedford and Kempston CLP, a meeting will be held on Thursday, December 17, at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Lane, Goldington, from 7.30pm.
