Brave Maggie is homeward bound

TODDINGTON mum Maggie Thomas is on her way home to spend precious time with her family before facing more surgery to rid her body of cancer.

She has been having revolutionary hyperthermia treatment in a German clinic to try to shrink the tumours in her lungs.

And the brave mother-of-six admits the hardest part of all is being separated from her children.

Maggie, 46, who grew up in Stanbridge, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. In spite of having a radical mastectomy, it has spread to her liver, hips, ribs and spine.

Her devastated husband David said: “We plan to spend the weekend together with the children before Maggie goes to Hammersmith Hospital next week for scans and possible surgery.”
