Bumper Christmas for the hospice

KEECH Hospice Care’s special Christmas draw raised a fabulously festive £40,000 for the charity.

The top prize of £2,000 was scooped by a Luton octogenarian, who wished to remain anonymous.

The lucky lady, who’s been playing the lottery for more than 10 years, said she and her family would definitely be having a few extra treats over the festive season.

Another octogenarian – Pat Jennings from Bramingham (right) – drew out the winning numbers.

Pat, who has bowel and liver cancer, attends the hospice’s palliative care centre twice a week.

She said: “Everyone is so helpful and supportive and the centre has such a friendly atmosphere.”
