Charlee Jay Woodward – who’s in year 7 at Manshead School – will perform before a professional judging panel at a live showcase in London at the end of the month to win a place in the National Grand Final.

According to proud mum Collette Jordan of London Road, Charlee Jay’s love of song and dance started when she made her first solo appearance, aged only seven.

Collette, a Dunstable pre-school deputy manager, said: “She sings all the time and has won awards at school for her musical talent.

“She’s been in many shows at Dunstable’s Grove Theatre and goes to the associates programme at Tring Park School for Performing Arts twice a week. She also attends On Pointe Dance Academy, as well as singing lessons at Toddington’s Willing Voices.”

Although Collette claims she herself can’t sing, Charlee Jay comes from a musical family – her aunts and grandfather all have good voices and he also plays guitar.
