At around 12.30am on Tuesday, April 19 the car was driven into Ladbrokes in High Street, causing a large hole in the wall.

Three men then entered and rummaged through the shop before getting back in the car and leaving via Piggots Lane in the direction of School Lane.

As no money is kept on the premises, the men were forced to leave empty handed.

Det Con Scott Hannam said: “This would have undoubtedly caused quite a noise so I’m appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“The car would have sustained significant damage to either its front or back so I’m also urging anyone who saw a dark coloured car with such damage in the following hours to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Hannam on 101. You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk-org
