Seventeen easyJet staff arrived at London Luton Airport last Tuesday, after cycling 400 miles from Glasgow Airport.
To celebrate the airline’s 20th birthday, the cyclists set off at 7am on Friday, November 6. taking four days to reach easyJet’s head office.
The cycle team, which is made up of staff from across Europe including pilots, engineers and crew, included riders of varying levels of expertise, from relatively new cyclists to veterans, triathletes or touring cyclists.
During the journey, the riders consumed 288 bananas, 144 energy gels, 288 energy drinks and burned at least 324,000 calories.
The cycle team has been raising funds for easyJet’s partner charity, Unicef.
Since easyJet and Unicef’s partnership began in July 2012, the airline has raised more than £6 million for the international children’s aid charity.
