A number of community groups, businesses and residents have also pledged their support.

They will rally to tidy up the town on the weekend of Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5.

Signposts spokesperson Phyl Rainey said: “We’ve already had a fantastic response but we’d like even more people to join us.

“We should be really proud of our town and we can help show our regard and say happy birthday to the Queen by getting together to tidy up.

“I’d really like to encourage anyone interested to come along and help out.”
