Appeal after ‘distressing’ street robbery


Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Luton’s Lansdowne Road.

The incident took place at around 10.45pm on Tuesday, October 27 when the victim was approached by two men who asked him for the time.

The offenders grabbed the victim, before making off with his watch and his bag, containing a laptop and smartphone.

Both of the offenders are described as Asian and being in their 30s.

One is described as being around 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall, of medium build with short black hair and facial stubble. He was wearing black jogging bottoms and a black fleece jacket.

The second is described as around 5ft 6ins, of slim build and with facial stubble. He was wearing a black woolly hat, a dark hooded top and dark coloured jeans.

Det Con Ann Ward, said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim, who was thankfully uninjured but has suffered the loss of a number of high-value items.

“Robbery is one of our top priorities and we will not tolerate this intimidating behaviour. I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to contact me.”
