Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an assault in broad daylight in Grove Road, in Luton.

Between 3pm and 4pm on Tuesday January 26, the victim was approached from behind by a man when knocking on the door of a property in the street.

He was assaulted leaving him with minor injuries which required hospital treatment.

The offender is described as black, of tall stocky build, aged in his early 40s. He had long hair and spoke with a Caribbean accent.

Detective Constable Samantha Toombs said: “This was a brazen assault which happened in broad daylight in a relatively busy residential street.

“We won’t tolerate behaviour like this and we are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who may know who is responsible.”
