Attempted murder accused to undergo psychiatric testing
A Polish man accused of stabbing a widowed shopkeeper is to undergo further psychiatric testing.
Tomasz Jaworski, 30, is accused of the attempted murder of Nirupa Patel on Christmas Eve at Moon’s Newsagents, Park Street, Luton.
Nirupa’s husband Jashbai was stabbed to death in the shop by Richard Dettmer in June 2009.

Hide AdAppearing via video link at Luton Crown Court this morning, Mr Jaworski was told via a translator that he would undergo a second stage of psychiatric testing.
Judge Richard Foster told the defence that they must present a report from this by April 29 and adjourned for another plea hearing on May 4.
A trial is set to start on June 6.
