Car ploughs through front of Bury Park home

Police are hunting for a motorist who crashed into the front of a Bury Park home last night.

According to eyewitnesses at around 6.30pm a speeding driver struck a pillar on Biscot Road, before colliding with three cars and careening into the front of a home.

The crash caused significant damage to the front of the property, but fortunately no injuries were reported.

The motorist involved in the incident is said to have left the scene of the crash, before parking up in Lansdowne Road and fleeing on foot.

A structural engineer from the council was sent to assess the damage.

Beds Police confirmed to the Luton News that it recovered a vehicle near the scene of the crash, but no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson said: “We were called shortly before 7pm to reports of a car having collided with a property in Biscot Road, Luton.

“No-one was hurt and structural engineers were called to make the scene safe.

“A vehicle was found abandoned nearby and recovered, but it appears the driver made off from the scene.

“Enquiries are being carried out and an investigation has been launched – anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call 101.”
