Child abuser and rapist jailed after five victims reported crimes to Bedfordshire Police
A rapist has been put behind bars after a brave victim told Bedfordshire Police she had been sexually abused by him.
And as police investigated Ian Perrin, 64, of Tremont Street, Wolverhampton, four further victims came forward and reported abuse dating back to the late 1990s.

Perrin tried to cover up his crimes using fake evidence – forging text messages claiming to be from one of the victims, falsely stating that accusations against him had been made up. Investigators quickly figured out that the messages were not genuine.
Perrin was found guilty of 11 offences on May 23 after a trial.
His charges included rape, indecent assault, gross indecency, child cruelty and neglect, and perverting the course of justice.
He was jailed for 23 years at Luton Crown Court on July 23.
Perrin was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register until further order.
Detective Constable Claire Long said: “Perrin was a prolific offender who is now behind bars.
“I commend each victim for coming forward and for the courage they showed in speaking out during what was a very difficult trial."
DC Long called on victims of sexual abuse to come forward, no matter how long ago it happened.
She said: “Our specialist teams investigate offences like this every day, working tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice while ensuring victims receive the support they need throughout the process.
“When you feel ready to speak to us, our officers are here to listen. You will be heard, and you will be supported.”
Reports of sexual abuse can be made to Bedfordshire Police by calling 101 or via its website.
