Distraction burglars force their way into Luton home
Police are appealing for information after a distraction burglary in Ashcroft Road, Luton.
At around 1.45pm on Tuesday (14 June) two men approached a property and attempted to gain entry by claiming to need to read the water pressure in the house.
The elderly occupants suspected something suspicious and refused entry but they forced their way through the back door.
While in the property they stole a purse containing around £100 and made off.
The men are mescribed as white, aged around 25-30 years old, 5’10” with dark hair. One was wearing a dark baseball cap and the other was wearing a blue and white striped top and jeans.

PC Andy Stevens, investigating, said: “This is a despicable act against two elderly people who have clearly been targeted due to their age and fragility. This incident left them both shaken and shocked, but luckily unharmed. I urge anyone with information or who saw anyone matching this description in the area to get in touch.”
