Fond farewell to Luton magistrates

MAGISTRATES were thanked for all their hard work during a special presentation evening last week.

The event at Luton Magistrates Court marked the retirement or departure of a number of magistrates who have recently left the bench, some of whom have achieved 20 years’ service.

The evening was presided over by chairman of the bench, Gary Roberts JP, who is coming to the end of his three-year term of office, and the presentations were carried out by the court’s liaison judge, His Honour Judge Jeffrey Burke QC.

Mr Roberts will be replaced in January by Barry Neale JP.
