Hammer attack on taxi cab in racial incident

A taxi driver had his cab windows smashed with a hammer during a racially motivated atack on Sunday.

The driver, who had two family members in the back of the black cab, was waiting at traffic lights in Hitchin Road, Luton at around 5pm when a man got out of a white van and made racially abusive comments before smashing the rear and two passenger windows with a hammer.

The offender was a white man, in his mid 20s, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, of athletic build, with light brown hair which was short on the sides and spikey on top. Call 101 with information.
